We are so grateful for the outpouring of support, purchases, and volunteers for our International Craft Festival and Rug Event! We’re delighted to report that we sold a total of $67,064 of fair trade products to support artisans, rug makers, and small farmers with sustainable incomes! We also received $2,540 in donations from generous donors at the sale. In all, we raised more than $20,000 for the start-up fund to open a store in State College!
We now have more than $50,000 in the start-up seed fund. In order to secure the pre-approved $50,000 matching grant from the Mennonite Central Committee (MCC), we need to find the right location for our store and develop a business plan that will include five-year financial projections. The plan will go before a committee at Ten Thousand Villages and MCC for final approval of the matching grant. Thanks to your help we are now ready to start looking for a store site!
We hope to hold several smaller sales throughout the holiday season. Watch for event details on Facebook, our website and via email. Thanks for your big hearts and commitment to opening a store in State College!
